Chippy love! a layout, book, and necklace....

Hello!

ITS A MIRACLE!!!!

Two blog posts in one week?!

I am really excited to share these projects with you!!!!
I almost couldn't wait until they went up over at Scrap Fx!

I really tried to think outside of the box with these and I had so much FUN!!!!

First, I will share a layout I made for my niece, Tiffany.  She is a super duper sweet girl with such an  awesome personality.  She doesn't know a stranger and is so loving and kind (she and her sister both)!  Unfortunately, because she is such a sweet and loving person sometimes she gets held to unrealistic expectations...and the moment she stumbles she feels like all eyes are on her.
So, I made her this layout that should say ( I totally forgot to add the rest of the title! lol...geesh)

"You don't have to be a perfect little angel"

I used the maze stencil in the background.  Then I used lots of  gorgeous Scrap Fx chippy's.

I tried to make the wings look like they were really coming from behind her arms.  To hide them, I tried a technique inspired by Heidi Kelley (I think I've shared about the scrappy crush I have for her before?)  Anyway, I printed off two pics and then cut out strands of "hair" with my exacto knife.  Unfortunately, I goobered up the pic trying to glue the hair back down...and no I haven't fixed it yet.

Next up...

An altered book.  I plan to use the inside for art journaling.

Urban stencil
For the background I used parts of the urban stencil and the clouds and raindrops stencil.
I need to buy new bottles for my mists so this was actually colored with Donna salazar mists.

I used my beloved Gauche Alchemy rectangle punchinella on the spine of the book.  I really do LOOOOVE this stuff!

Last, but not least...

A steampunk necklace made with loads of scrap fx!  Jewelry making is a totally new thing to me.  I really didn't want to get any creative idea's outside of my own vision in my head, so I refused to roam the Internet for help on this.  However, I had no idea what to look for in the stores to complete the necklace.  Thankfully, Jennifer walker, my former teamie over at Gauche Alchemy, helped me by giving me some basic knowledge of what I would need to purchase and what the purpose of each item was.   Thanks Scraps! ;)

Its not without its flaws, because the finish on the back is a mess
...but other than that I really love it!

Plus, how cool is it that I've used all chipboard to create this?! (except the chains of course)

Now I'm just trying to figure out what other chippy's I can design some jewelry around.  For instance, what about making some dangly cog earrings????  I may be out of my league with that one, but I might say heck with it and try it anyway!

So that's it for today.  I hope I've been able to inspire you today!

Don't forget, Scrap Fx is having a D.T. call right now.  You have until March 1st to apply.

***Remember, Australia is a day ahead of us here in the U.S.A, so you may want to try to get your app in by the 28th***

Thanks for stopping by my friends.
I appreciate your visits more than you know, and I hope you are having a incredibly blessed weekend!

Just swinging by since I was adding your blog addy to my blog hop post!
Girl you KNOW how much I love both that cover and the necklace!! I think you may have found your calling with that last piece- it really does look wonderfully "finished"- I love the texture and color- the little heart is so darned sweet. The scrapbook page made me laugh- I love the corrugated and painted elements there. :)

Take the quotes off of the word finished- it sounds snarky and that's so not what I intended! :) If you make another heart necklace I'm waiting in line to buy it- it's seriously awesome.
