My Father-in-law...aka "fatty Daddy"

My father in law passed away last week.  He was an amazing man...full of wisdom and love.  He touched so many lives and had a way with making everyone feel important!  We are sad to see him go, but know that he is in a better place! He will be missed by many....

My dad in-law

Just wanted to drop a note and ask for prayers for my father in law!  He is such a sweet guy who has just now found out news that he has cancer again for the 3rd time.  This time they are not giving much hope.  I believe in miracles though and thats why I'm requesting prayers for him now....

Lovely

Hello there!  I was really hoping to start posting layouts weekly but I don't seem to be doing very well with that goal.  :)

The layout below is my baby girl Liberty.  I posted these pics a couple of weeks ago.  It is based on this months Dusty Attic sketch.  I really struggled with this sketch because of the diamond shape.  I originally made a vine and tried to put it into a diamond shape and just couldn't get it to look very good.  So I kept playing around with it and eventually disposed of the idea all together.

Through several trials and errors this is what I finally came up with...

"Our Superstar"

Hi again!  I did this layout last week, but couldn't get a good photo of it at all...finally gave up and decided to upload it anyway.  I was hoping to enter twisted sketches challenge (sketch 90) last week...but the photo issue kept me from doing it.  :(

The background was made with a little gesso, and I did some misting with silver sugar glimmer mist.
The twist on this sketch was frame (anyhow, anyway)...I loved this twist  thought it would be really cool to frame Paytons pic with "bricks".  I mixed some modeling paste with sand and smeared it over and around the edge of the photo.  Then I "layed my bricks" which were made out of inked up cardboard. I loved the look of this, except you really can't see Paytons face???  Normally I would just print a larger photo...but I couldn't really fix it because the other photo was laying under bricks and mortar!  So...what you see is what you get!

Just know that this is way cooler irl!  ( I did decide to enter it in for the paints and mists challenge being held by ashleyvanetten at scrapbook.com)

Here is a close up of the bottle caps I painted then cut out 1" circles on my cricut and used TH distress ink around the edges.  Then I used scrap metal letters and finished it off with some crackle accents.  The distress ink responds to moisture so when I put the crackle accents over the top the ink ran making the bottle caps look rusted.  I liked the effect....
Below you can see the TH film strip.  You can actually tell what the tiny pics are irl...not so much in this photo....

I used crackle accents over paytons name plate and in random spots on my page as well...

Tattered Angels are at Hobby Lobby!!!

This is so exciting!  Its only some of the trial kits but I am still totally stoked.   I hate buying things off the Internet (can't stand paying S&H), and since there doesn't seem to be any brick and mortar scrap stores around here the Internet is the only place to go for the newest items.   I had been making my own mists with metallic pain, pearlizing medium and a little glue.  It worked out for me but this Glimmer Mist is 10x better on paper!  .  They are $14.99 for the sets, but I always get the 40% coupon...so it was a steal of a deal!

Amateur Photo Shoot

I am so excited with how these photo's turned out!  Taken down at the "corner."  Its just such a perfect grungy background...
Liberty took such awesome photos!

Payton's were great too, but he didn't stick around for many of them, I don't like how you can see the reflections in the window though.  I'm sure photoshop has a way of fixing them but I didn't even notice it until now...

My niece Alexxis...she was very photogenic!

This is another one of my niece's...Trinity.  She refused to wear long sleeves and it wasn't that warm out.  So she was really cold,!

She loves posing for the camera!

This is my other niece Alexxis.  She's not faking the mad look, she's ticked at my son.  Whats funny is that when I was editing this photo,  he mocked her in such a goofy little voice..."Ooohhh, I'm Lexi...I hate Payton!"  Something I so should not have laughed at but he took me by surprise with it!

She was getting ticked because I kept having to tell her to sit like a lady and keep her legs together...these next 2 photo's are her screaming at the other kids to "stop laughing at me"!  It wasn't a good day for her, but man the photo's are so priceless!  Not the best for wall photo's but could really inspire some fun layouts! lol

This is my cuti-patootie nephew Kaden.  I sent him home to get jeans and instead he changed his shirt! lol   Oh well, I still think these photo's are really good.  He is just so handsome!

Man I love this kid!  I just want to grab him up and squeeze and kiss all over him!

I loved watching Trinity and Liberty interacting with each other....
