Punky Scraps challenge #23

I am excited to say that I was able to take part in all 3 Punky Scraps challenges this month!  I absolutely love their challenges and inspiration...they really get you to step out of the box!

So this challenge...and this is what they had to say about challenge #23

The Team B gurlies have picked random techniques, products, etc. for you to combine and create something fun and The Team A gurlies are scrapping with them......are you confused? :) . Here is what the Team B rebels have picked:

Michelle - Use photos of items, no people photo of our ran down park
Camilla - 3 circles stamped red with the end of a tp roll
Elin - Use Turqoise painted the cardboard
Mandy - Stitching (real or doodled)used to adhere my title
Nat - Use Red.several places
Jess - Use 1 or more staples attached to my journaling
Do any of you have that person in your life that you have so many hopes and dreams for, but they seem to let you down constantly because of their self -destructive personalities?  I have a childhood friend that breaks my heart because she seems to make the same mistakes over and over...and its gotten to the point that I have had keep my distance because I can no longer worry about her (I'm not being judgemental at all when saying this...there have been actual legal issues in relation to her bad choices).  I pray for her daily and so wish that we could be as close as we were when we were young, but I can't stand to witness her destroying her life anymore!

This layout symbolizes how much I wish we could just be close again...but am afraid that our childhood friendship may never be as close now that we are adults...and it makes me sad!

Thanks for looking! I appreciate all of your support!

Misty, I LOVE this layout...so perfect for this neglected park, which reminds me so much of a similar park in the neighborhood in which I grew up! We had fun playing there, despite the graffiti spray-painted all over the slide and the broken beer bottles and cigs all over the ground!

So sad about your friend. Unfortunately, people like this often need to hit "rock-bottom," much like addicts, in order to realize they need to take responsibility for their lives and make productive change. Sometimes they need to also lose important people in their lives to hit the bottom. I pray that the light bulb will soon go on, and that your friend will wake up and discover how lucky s/he is to have someone like you in their corner!

Your pages always have a profound message within, and I always enjoy the stories behind them. A wonderful page...and that photo is fantastic!

I agree with Jenny- sometimes the loss of a good relationship is the only thing that makes people in self destructive paths start to examine their actions. I LOVE this photo and the painting you did for the challenge!
