Wired Differently

This layout is of my niece Rylee.  She is at a stage in her life where she is totally rebelling against God and family.  We just recently found out some horrific things that she was subject to and it kind of explained where she is coming from.  I still hate that she doesn't seem to care about much of anything and never shows any true emotion but with much prayer I finally realized that the only way for her to get the healing that she needs from her past, is to be surrounded by people who love her unconditionally right where she is at! 

This was my tribute to her...I am entering it into a challenge at www.punkyscraps.blogspot.com .  The challenge was to use yellow, orange, and green and only 1 pattern paper.  My patten paper was the zebra print...I painted two pieces one orange and one green.

Oh by the way...Rylee's response after seeing this layout was  "It would be cool if it didn't have that stupid bee on it!   What a punk!!  For real!!!  I thought the bee was kind of cute...I guess I'm just corny like that though. :)

OOps!  Forgot to get close up pics!  Sorry still too new to all of this.  I used a bunch of true scraps for this.  The mesh is from our old trampoline enclosure, the bottom flower is made out of the wipes that I used to wipe some paint, the 'I' in wired is a light my niece Lexi, found on the road, the wires were from something my husband was going to use, and the bee is from one of my sons word flashcards.

I tried to mimic the design of her shirt by cutting rips in the background paper and then I placed some lacy ribbon behind it.  The lace was originally white...

The design I had in my head was a lot cooler than what came out on paper, but I'm still learning by experimenting...I still think it has a punky style...thats all that counts right?!
